How to change the password in case of Pre-configured Modems
Invoke Internet Explorer or any other browser. Then follow the steps 3 to 7 as given in details on how to change the password in case of non-pre-configured modem. 

With the above procedure you would have changed the password in the Dataone Authentication Server only. But password in the modem also needs to be changed. Follow the procedure given below:
  1. Configure TCP/IP in your PC as follows:
    Windows 98 / 98SE / ME / NT / 2000:
    -Right click on Network Neighborhood icon and Select Properties. You will get the screen below:

-         In the installed components list select TCP/IP -> (Network Interface Card name) and press Properties button. You will get the screen shown bellow:

-         In the IP Address tab, select "Specify an IP address" and give the IP addresses as follows:
  •         IP Address   : 192.168.1.10
  •         Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 

-         Click on Gateway tab. You will get the screen shown below:

-         Give the address 192.168.1.1 in New gateway and click Add button.

-         Click on DNS Configuration Tab. You will get the screen shown below:

Select "Enable DNS"
  • Give Host name as "bsnl"
  • Give the address 192.168.1.1 in DNS Server Search Order and click "Add" button.
  • Click OK button. Then click OK button.
For Windows XP Home/Professional:
  • Right click on My Network Places available either on Desktop or in My Computer Folder and select Properties.
  • Click View all Connections.
  • Right click on Local Area Connection and select properties. You will get the screen shown below:

  • In the components list select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties button. You will get the screen shown bellow:

Give the IP addresses as follows:
  • IP Address   : 192.168.1.10
  • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (This will appear automatically)        
  • Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
  • Preferred DNS Server : 192.168.1.1
  • Click OK.
