OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR SUBSCRIBER CONTROLLED NSD/ISD BARRING

SI.No  FOR E10B/OCB/AXE/5ESS/EWSD  DIGITAL EXCHANGES
2. To register the password
  1. Choose a four digit password,say '2345'
  2. Dial the prefix 123 followed by the password
    twice e.g. 1232345 2345
  3. Wait for the acceptance tone and then disconnect.
  4. Please remember this Password
    and keep it SECRET.

For 5ESS Exchanges Dial the Prefix 123 followed by '0000', the initial password given by the exchange and the four digit password chosen by you (eg)123 0000 2345 - rest same procedure as for E10B digital exchanges.

  To bar NSD/ISD facility
  1. Dial 124, followed by the
    password and digit 1 e.g. 124 2345 1
  2. Wait for acceptance tone and then disconnect.
  3. Now the NSD/ISD facility is barred.
  4. You can, however, have access to manual trunk service.
  To open NSD/ISD facility
  1. Dial 124, followed by the password and digit 0
    e.g. 124 2345 0
  2. Wait for acceptance tone and disconnect.
    Now the NSD/ISD facility is available to you.
  To open NSD only 
  1. Dial 124, followed by the password and digit 3
    e.g. 124 2345 3
  2. Wait for acceptance tone and disconnect.
    Now the NSD facility alone is available to you.
  To bar NSD/ISD manual Trunk facility
  1. Dial 124 followed by the password and digit  2
    e.g. 124 2345 2
  2. For subscribers with STD :Selective barring of Level '95' calls has been introduced now.Dial 124 followed by four digit password and then  2 to bar Level "95" calls along with NSD/ISD calls, manual Trunk calls and calls to Special services
  To bar local calls
  1. Dial 124 followed by the Password
    and digit 4 eg.124 2345 4


    (Applicable only if NSD is available)
To Open Local Calls

        1. .Dial 124, followed by the password and digit 1 or 2
          e.g. 124 2345 1 or 2

  To change the password. 
  1. Dial 123 followed by the old password and the
    new password (e.g.) if you want to change the
    password from 2345 to 5678 dial 123 2345 5678.
  2. Wait for acceptance tone and then disconnect.
  3. For opening/barring NSD/ISD you will use the new password hereafter (e.g.) '5678
  Do's and Don'ts
 
  1. Do wait for the acceptance tone after every command to the system as indicated.
  2. Do remember your password always.
  3. Do keep your password a Secret 
  4. Don't use incorrect password, since the system will reject your command if the password used is incorrect. If incorrect password is used more than 9 times the dynamic locking facility will become inoperative. The facility will be restored only against a written request to theDivisional Engineer r of the concerned Exchange.
